A fire billowed smoke near downtown Milwaukee and the city’s Mitchell Park neighborhood the mid-afternoon June 4.
Milwaukee Fire Department was responding to a fire near the 1600 block of West Bruce Street around the time smoke became noticeable around 3:45 p.m., according to online fire department call logs. Photos of the smoke appeared to stem from that area in the Menomonee Valley.
Milwaukee Fire Department officials did not immediately respond to a request for informatino on the fire.
The area the fire department was responding to has been subject to other fires. Last year, a January fire at a scrap metal factory sent smoke billowing throughout the city.
It isn’t clear if the same factory was where the June 4 fire stemmed.
This is a developing story and will be updated.
