The Milwaukee Brewers close out their four-game series and homestand against the San Francisco Giants at American Family Field on Thursday afternoon, June 4.
Right-hander Coleman Crow (0-0, 3.14 ERA) starts for the Brewers against Giants (and former Brewers) right-hander Adrian Houser (2-5, 5.59).
Awful beginning for Coleman Crow
Casey Schmitt, swinging at the first pitch, sent a drive to left field that bounced off the top of the wall, over and into the Brewers bullpen for a 1-0 Giants lead. Jackson Chourio, seemingly unsure of where he was on the warning track, bumped into the wall before even being able to try for a leaping grab.
From there, San Francisco racked up four more hits – including three straight with two outs – to leave Milwaukee in a 3-0 hole and Crow reeling.
The Brewers offense did get a run back in the bottom of the frame after Chourio drew a one-out walk, moved to third on a Brice Turang infield single and throwing error by Willy Adames and scored on a sacrifice fly to right by William Contreras.
What is the Brewers record?
37-22, first place in the NL Central.
