Second suspect convicted in fatal 2024 drug-deal-robbery shooting

A Green Bay man pleaded to reduced charges June 19 in the fatal shooting of Brandon Ramirez, becoming the second of five charged suspects to be convicted in the case.

Elijah White, 20, pleaded no contest June 19 to felony murder as a party to a crime, conspiracy to commit armed robbery, both felonies, and resisting an officer, a misdemeanor. White was originally charged with first-degree intentional homicide, but the charge was reduced to felony murder through the plea agreement.

Ramirez died Aug. 9, 2024, from a gunshot wound to the head. He was dropped off at a hospital on Aug. 7, 2024, following a shooting in the 1200 block of Berner Street. Prosecutors said the shooting occurred during a drug-deal-turned-robbery, according to criminal complaints.

Dion Richardson Jr., 20; Nigel White, 23; and Darian Pinchart, 20, all of Green Bay, were also charged with first-degree intentional homicide, conspiracy to commit armed robbery and resisting or obstructing an officer in Ramirez’s death. Rosemary Williams, 19, of Kewaunee, was charged with felony murder as a party to a crime, conspiracy to commit armed robbery and resisting or obstructing an officer.

Prosecutors have since reduced the first-degree intentional homicide charge against Nigel White to felony murder as a party to a crime, according to court records. Nigel White also faces four bail jumping charges and Richardson is charged with one count of bail jumping.

Pinchart pleaded no contest March 27 to felony murder as a party to a crime and possessing a firearm as an adjudicated delinquent. He was sentenced June 15 to 15 years in prison followed by ten years on extended supervision.

In interviews with investigators, the suspects gave differing accounts of the incident, the complaints showed. White told investigators he was at the Berner Street house at the time of the shooting because Richardson was purchasing marijuana and “needed some backup,” according to a complaint.

White said he was in the backyard of the house at the time of the shooting, the complaint said. He told investigators he had seen Richardson with a gun earlier in the day and that he believed Richardson got into a car with Ramirez intending to purchase marijuana and saw Ramirez pull out a gun, the complaint said.

The complaints reference Snapchat communications between White and Richardson the day before and the day of the shooting discussing finding someone to rob. The pair also exchanged messages about a gun, the complaint said.

White returns to court Aug. 18 to be sentenced.

Williams returns to court Aug. 7 for a status conference. Nigel White is scheduled to stand trial beginning Aug. 5. Richardson is scheduled to stand trial beginning July 20.
