Readers ask when new Chipotle Mexican Grill will open in Marshfield

MARSHFIELD − Construction is underway on a new Chipotle Mexican Grill along North Central Avenue and several readers have reached out the Marshfield News-Herald asking when the restaurant will open.

The 2,371-square-foot restaurant will sit next to the former BMO bank building at 1305 N. Central Ave. and in front of the Harbor Freight store in the Marshfield Towne Centre development.

A representative for Chipotle confirmed to a Marshfield News-Herald reporter that the restaurant is expected to open this winter, adding that additional details will be provided as the opening date approaches.

Details of the planned Chipotle restaurant

The Marshfield Plan Commission first considered a request Feb. 17 from Joseph Radach, on behalf of Milwaukee-based Midland Management LLC, for a conditional use permit to build the Chipotle restaurant with indoor and outdoor seating and a pickup lane on the city’s north side.

“We are excited to partner with the City of Marshfield to bring a new fast casual restaurant option to the community,” Radach said in a Dec. 19 letter to the City Council and Plan Commission.

Radach’s permit request outlined a plan for the Chipotle restaurant to be built on 0.67 acres of the bank property’s 1.89 acre parcel. The restaurant would have an outdoor eating and drinking area with six tables that can seat approximately 20 patrons, according to the request. Two of the tables will offer accessibility consistent with the Americans with Disabilities Act.
