FOND DU LAC – June is Pride Month. How will Fond du Lac County celebrate?
Ripon will kick off pride events first in June, with Fond du Lac’s seventh annual Pride Picnic coming later in the month. Both are family friendly with a variety of activities.
Here’s what to expect.
Ripon Pride Rally, June 7
The Ripon High School Social Justice Alliance will host the fourth annual Pride Rally from 3 to 7 p.m. June 7 at the Village Green, 109 E. Seward St.
The rally will include food, music and other entertainment, as well as face painting, karaoke and yard games. Vendors will be out, and several organizations will have booths with resources.

Fond du Lac Pride Picnic, June 22
The Fond du Lac Pride Picnic will return to Lakeside Park from 1 to 7 p.m. June 22, inviting attendees to bring their friends, family or chosen family.
This year’s event includes music, food trucks, vendor booths, and other booths featuring community resources and non-profits. Attendees are welcome to take their own picnics and picnic gear.
The picnic will also be a stop on the Wisconsin LGBTQ History Project’s Summer to be Seen Tour, which will visit several statewide pride events with an aim to amplify LGBTQ+ voices and visibility while reconnecting residents with history not taught in school.
As part of this year’s tour, the project is hoping to interview LGBTQ+ elders on their experiences with the liberation movement, since this was the generation on the frontlines of the movement before the concept of “pride” was even possible, according to the project. They will be celebrated in a traveling LGBTQ History Month exhibit in October.
