PK’s Beans N’ Cream to become Heritage Coffee

MANITOWOC – Heritage Coffee soon will be opening in the old PK’s Beans N’ Cream, 908 N. Eighth St.

New owners April and Cody House announced on Facebook that they will bring some of their own ideas along with keeping some of PK’s traditions.

The store will be closed for a two to three weeks for updates, with a grand opening planned for mid to late June.

Not to worry, the tradition of selling Christmas trees will continue under the new owners.

PK’s Beans N’ Cream owner says goodbye

“It’s not easy to give up the tradition that meant so much to my family for over 65 years, but I’m excited April and Cody’s family will continue to build more memories,” PK’s Beans N’ Cream owner Paula Kohlmeier said on Facebook. “I would like to say a big thank you to all my faithful customers and employees for their support over the past 18 years.

“It has bee a pleasure saving the community and living my dream as a business owner at the same time,” Kohlmeier added.

Heritage Coffee came from a collaboration to bring a creative coffee experience to Wisconsin, according to its website. The company has a mobile coffee truck in Green Bay.

Heritage Coffee will use brick-and-mortar space to roast beans, create a community feel

On its Facebook page, Heritage Coffee wrote the following:

“We’re opening a brand-new Heritage Coffee shop, and it’s everything you would expect from us — earthy, cozy and full of heart.

“If you’ve loved grabbing your drinks from our mobile coffee set up, just wait until you’ve stepped into our new space. More room to gather, more drinks to love and the same community-first spirit that’s been with us from the start.”

The owners plan to partner with Manitowoc vendors for the products they carry.

“Yes, the yearly Christmas tree tradition is absolutely coming with us,” they added.

They also noted, “We’re excited to finally have a home base where we can roast and sell our own Heritage Coffee beans, crafted in-house with the same warmth and intention you taste in every cup.”
