Pete Prisco’s list of the top 100 NFL players entering the 2026 season featured only two members of the Green Bay Packers: edge rusher Micah Parsons and quarterback Jordan Love.
While the Packers might lack star power volume, they have perceived stars at arguably the two most important positions in the sport: quarterback and edge rusher. Parsons came in at No. 12, down two spots from last season, while Love landed at No. 51 overall, good for seventh best among quarterbacks. Winning football games often comes down to dynamic plays from the passing game and pressuring the opponent’s quarterback, and Love and Parsons provide a strong foundation in Green Bay.
But winning at the highest level usually requires a stable of great players. The Super Bowl champion Seattle Seahawks, for instance, put six players on the list. The Philadelphia Eagles, who retain much of their core from their Super Bowl winning team of 2024, put eight players on the list. Of course, any list is subjective. For the Packers, running back Josh Jacobs, tight end Tucker Kraft, right tackle Zach Tom and safety Xavier McKinney did not make Prisco’s list. Matt LaFleur’s team needs those borderline stars to stay healthy and be dominant players in 2026.
Prisco on Parsons: “After being traded to the Packers, Parsons was dynamic as a pass rusher with 12.5 sacks in 14 games. But his season was cut short by a torn ACL. He is expected back in October.”
Prisco on Love: “He played in 15 games and led the Packers to the playoffs. He threw 23 touchdown passes and just six interceptions. But it’s now two straight seasons in which injuries have forced him to miss time.”
For what it’s worth, the Los Angeles Rams had the two best players on Prisco’s list: Edge rusher Myles Garrett and quarterback Matthew Stafford. And receiver Puka Nacua ended up in the top 10, and newcomer Trent McDuffie landed just behind Love at No. 52. Can the Packers rusher-quarterback duo of Parsons and Love shine bright enough for Green Bay to win the NFC in 2026?
