The new two-year deal signed by Green Bay Packers running back Chris Brooks includes a $650,000 signing bonus and a Year 1 cap number under $2 million.
NFL insider Aaron Wilson has the contract details here. Brooks will have base salaries of $1.25 million in 2026 and $1.41 million in 2027.
Over the Cap has Brooks receiving $170,000 in total per-game roster bonuses and $100,000 workout bonuses each year. In 2027, the contract has a $1 million roster bonus. The only guaranteed money is the signing bonus.
Brooks’ cap number in 2026 will be $1,845,000, or under one percent of the total cap.
Brooks is all but locked in for the 2026 season as the offense’s No. 2 or No. 3 running back. The Packers will then need to decide if he’s worth keeping in 2027 at a $3 million cap number, and they will need to decide before paying his roster bonus.
This is essentially a one-year, $2.17 million deal with a team option for 2027. The Packers could save a little under $2.7 million by parting ways with Brooks before paying his 2027 roster bonus.
