The Bob Uecker documentary “Ueck,” has a new trailer, one that’s about to show up in advance of films at Marcus theaters with an important new nugget at the very end.
The film will open theatrically in Marcus Theaters throughout Wisconsin beginning Friday, July 24.
The documentary was a huge hit at the Milwaukee film festival, quickly selling out two shows – the fastest opening night film sellout the festival had ever seen in its 18-year history, according to Milwaukee Film executive director Susan Kerns.
Chronicling the storied sports and entertainment life of the famed Brewers broadcaster, the movie began filming in 2023, capturing interviews and footage of Uecker in the broadcast booth.
“I don’t know what his motivation for being a part of the documentary was,” said Michael Vollmann, one of the film’s directors. “But, I think, I got the sense one day when we were shooting with him, that maybe it was almost as if he was almost being part of it because he knew it would be a gift for people – maybe even after he was gone.”
