A Neenah man was sentenced to three years in prison June 22 after pleading no contest in connection to a December stabbing on Sherry Street.
Brady McIntosh, 21, pleaded no contest June 22 to first-degree recklessly endangering safety. A charge of first-degree reckless injury was dismissed through a plea agreement.
After McIntosh entered his plea, Winnebago County Circuit Court Judge John Jorgensen sentenced him to three years in prison followed by five years on extended supervision, according to court records.
McIntosh stabbed a man during a physical altercation in the early hours of Dec. 31 in the 800 block of Sherry Street, according to a criminal complaint. The victim had five stab wounds including one in each lung, had to be placed in a medically induced coma, had three major surgeries the day he was admitted and had to be placed on life support, the complaint said.
McIntosh told police the fight stemmed from an argument he and the victim had over the phone earlier in the night.
A witness recorded the altercation and the footage showed McIntosh approaching the victim while holding a knife behind his back, the complaint said.
