Police said around 3:53 p.m. on Monday, July 28, Jamyla Norwood’s mother received multiple text messages from unknown numbers stating her daughter was dead. The last time the mother spoke with Jamyla, she heard a girl in the background say that she would beat Jamyla, and they would push her down the stairs. Then the phone disconnected.

Jamyla was last believed to be in the area of North 24th Street and West Burleigh Street. She is about 5-foot-3 and weighs around 120 pounds.

She was last seen wearing a pink bonnet, black T-shirt, blue jean pants and yellow and black shoes. Police said she does not have any money or any means of transportation and should be on foot.
