Police in Madison arrested a machete-wielding man two blocks from the Wisconsin State Capitol building on May 27.
The 42-year-old was booked on counts of disorderly conduct while armed and carrying a concealed weapon.
Just before 11 a.m. May 27, police responded to a disturbance call in the 200 block of State Street.
When police arrived, witnesses said a group of four or five people was involved in a physical altercation when a man produced a machete.
No one was injured or struck with the machete, but the man was described as displaying the weapon and swinging it in a slashing motion around in the air.
None of the people involved in this fight remained on scene when officers arrived, except the suspect, who was pointed out by witnesses. Police located the machete concealed on his person and took him into custody.
