How much rain fell in Milwaukee on Wednesday, June 17? See the totals

Another day, another round of Milwaukee thunderstorms this June. Total rain for the month is now well above average after new rainfall from the Wednesday, June 17 showers.

Milwaukee saw 0.53 inches of rain total in the June 17 storm, according to the National Weather Service station in Milwaukee/Sullivan.

Far from the record for June 17 set at 2.14 inches in 1996, but also far from the historical average of 0.15 inches of rain for the day.

June has been especially rainy this year. Since June 1, Milwaukee has seen 3.88 inches of rain. That’s 1.39 inches more than the historical average of 2.49 inches.

Drought conditions have improved across the state in the past seven days. Since June 11, drought stricken areas in central, southeast and western Wisconsin have improved by at least one drought category, according to the National Integrated Drought Information System.

Drought has gotten slightly worse in far northern Wisconsin in the past week however. Door County and other counties bordering Michigan have worsened by one category in the same seven-day timespan.
