Hit-and-run crash leaves 1 dead; Milwaukee police still seeking suspect

A driver struck and killed a person in Milwaukee on Thursday, April 23, then fled the scene.

The driver struck the person on the 1300 block of North 13th Street around 9:10 a.m., according to a Milwaukee Police Department news release. The person who died has yet to be identified and police are seeking the driver.

The driver and their vehicle are currently unknown, police said in the release.

Police are asking anyone with information to call the department at 414-935-7360 or, to remain anonymous, contact Crime Stoppers at 414-224-Tips or use the P3 Tips app.

Driving crashes have led to nine other deaths in Milwaukee this year, according to police data. Last year, 62 people died in crashes.
