GREEN BAY – Green Bay Packers coach Matt LaFleur addressed reporters as the team continues organized team activities.
The big news from LaFleur’s press conference is Josh Jacobs has rejoined the Packers and participated in June 2 OTAs, after his release from Brown County Jail last week.
Here’s other takeaways from LaFleur’s press conference:
Micah Parsons has arrived in Green Bay
Packers standout edge rusher Micah Parsons has made it to town, LaFleur confirmed.
Parsons is still recovering from a torn ACL, so he’s not practicing with the team, but LaFleur said his presence in the building is positive.
Packers likely not having joint practices with Steelers or Broncos
The Packers will have three preseason games, but LaFleur doesn’t anticipate having joint practices with the Pittsburgh Steelers or Denver Broncos this training camp.
The team will have joint practices with the Arizona Cardinals. The Cardinals hired LaFleur’s brother, Mike LaFleur, as new head coach.
“One of the challenges when you have a night game, you’re just somewhere for a really long time,” LaFleur said. “I think we experienced that two years ago when we went out to Denver. I never shut the door on anything, but it’d have to work out for a logistical standpoint.”
Bo Melton back to receiver
After spending time at receiver and cornerback, LaFleur said Bo Melton is back to the offense full-time.
Melton, who ended the season on injured reserve after a knee injury in Week 18 against the Minnesota Vikings, is practicing with the team and made some big catches during workouts.
“He’s really made a lot of progress,” LaFleur said on Melton. “His ability to attack the football. He’s made a lot of plays for us, but I think he’s improved. You can tell he’s put in work from the time the season ended to where we‘re at now and showing some of the things we wanted to see him improve upon.”
