Former Wisconsin running back invited to Broncos' rookie minicamp

The Denver Broncos invited former Wisconsin running back Julius Davis to their rookie minicamp, according to the Denver Post’s Luca Evans.

Davis began his college career at Wisconsin in 2019, joining the program as a three-star recruit and the top in-state player in the class. He then appeared in nine games over four seasons with the program. He totaled 35 carries for 200 rushing yards during that playing time.

Davis transferred out of the program after the 2022 season. The running back committed to Montana State, where he excelled over the final three years of his college career. Davis first turned 104 carries into 722 yards and six touchdowns as a redshirt junior in 2023. He started 2024 off on a strong note, totaling 227 yards and three touchdowns before missing much of the campaign due to injury. Finally, the running back took advantage of an extra year of eligibility in 2025, totaling 1,123 yards and eight touchdowns on 170 carries.

The Menomonee Falls, Wisconsin, native now has his first NFL opportunity. He’ll work to turn the rookie minicamp invite into an invite to this summer’s training camp. If all goes well, Davis could compete for a spot on the Broncos’ practice squad.
