How Iowa lawmakers voted on a 'MAHA' bill with SNAP limits, ivermectin

Iowa lawmakers passed a “Make America Healthy Again” bill that limits which foods Iowans can buy with SNAP dollars, allows over the counter ivermectin access and bans certain dyes from school lunches.

House lawmakers voted 61-31 on April 20 to pass the bill, House File 2676. The Senate followed with a 30-16 vote on April 27, sending the bill to Gov. Kim Reynolds for her signature.

Reynolds proposed the bill in her Condition of the State address, seeking to align Iowa with U.S. Health and Human Services Robert F. Kennedy Jr.’s “MAHA” agenda.

The vote in both chambers was largely along party lines.

One House Republican, Rep. Matthew Rinker, R-Burlington, joined all House Democrats in voting against the bill.

Here’s how every Iowa lawmaker voted.
