Former Milwaukee Brewers standout rookie Keston Hiura has signed with the Kiwoom Heroes of the Korea Baseball Organization, with a contract for the remainder of the 2026 season.
Hiura, 29, had signed on a minor league deal with the Dodgers in February but hasn’t appeared in the big leagues in 2026.
The 29-year-old played briefly in the big leagues last year for eight games with Colorado after seeing action in 10 games with the Angels in 2024. The bulk of his career came in Milwaukee from 2019-22.
The ninth overall pick in 2017 surged through the Brewers system and had a remarkable debut season in 2019, but his high strikeout rate kept him from sustaining success in the big leagues. He has a career .755 OPS in the big leagues.
In Triple-A, he’s hit more than 100 homers and owns an OPS of .955.
Hiura reportedly also drew interest from a team in Japan. The California native was born to a Chinese-American mother and Japanese-American father.
