MANITOWOC – Manitowoc fire crews on Sunday, May 31, quickly contained a structure fire in the 1600 block of South 17th Street, extinguishing the blaze in about 10 minutes and reporting no injuries.
The Manitowoc Fire Department said it was dispatched at about 2:03 p.m. to the home on a still alarm assignment.
When firefighters arrived, they found an exterior fire along the side of the house. Crews stretched a single hose line and brought the fire under control.
Firefighters then completed a primary search inside the home and checked for any fire extension. They also overhauled the area and cooled the exposed exterior wall.
Crews cleared the scene within the hour, according to the department.
