No one was hurt in a fire at Wayside Dairy in Greenleaf.
The Wayside Fire Department responded to the fire in a shed at the farm around 8:20 p.m. June 22. Heavy black smoke and flames were coming from the doors and roof of the steel shed, according to the fire department.
The shed was used to dry cow manure for bedding for the animals. After the fire was put out, crews used Wayside Dairy’s farm equipment to pull material out of the building.
The fire remains under investigation. Firefighters were on the scene for three hours.
