The Philadelphia Eagles are making another trade before Tuesday’s deadline and before facing the Green Bay Packers on “Monday Night Football” from Lambeau Field in Week 10. On Monday morning, the Eagles agreed to send a third-round pick in the 2026 draft to the Miami Dolphins for edge rusher Jaelan Phillips, per Adam Schefter of ESPN.
The Eagles previously completed trades with the New York Jets for cornerback Michael Carter II and with the Baltimore Ravens for former Packers cornerback Jaire Alexander. It’s likely all three will make their individual Eagles debuts on Monday night against the Packers.
Phillips, a 2021 first-round pick of the Dolphins, has 26.0 career sacks in 55 games. He has produced 3.0 sacks, seven quarterback hits and 32 pressures in nine games with Miami in 2025. He will give the Eagles a potential go-to pass-rusher along the defensive line.
Eagles general manager Howie Roseman aggressively used trades to fill holes at two key defensive positions ahead of the season’s stretch run. Philadelphia’s secondary needed depth at corner around Quinyon Mitchell and Cooper DeJean, while the pass-rush on the edge has been an issue all season.
Phillips began his NFL career with 15.5 sacks and 41 quarterback hits during his first two seasons, but injuries wrecked his 2023 and 2024 seasons. He has played in all nine games so far in 2025.
The NFL trade deadline is Tuesday afternoon. It’s unclear if the Packers will make any additions before facing the Eagles next Monday night.
