Wouldn’t a cold glass of lemonade served up by a smiling kid on a shady residential street sound good right about now?
There’s no better time than a mid-July heat wave to celebrate the simple joy of running across a neighborhood lemonade stand, and here’s where we could use a hand.
We’re looking for child-run stands in the Green Bay area that show how the classic summertime activity has evolved from a card table and a Tupperware pitcher of lemonade to more creative offerings. We’re thinking stands that have colorful signs or booths, a fun twist on their drink offerings, a community give-back component or maybe a cute crafty add-on like homemade beaded bracelets – the kind of things that make a driver pull over and dig out some cash.
If that sounds like yours, drop a quick note to kmeinert@greenbay.gannett.com with just a line or two about it, a photo if you have one and a contact phone number. We’re hoping to reach out to a couple of stand operators to feature in an upcoming story.
