Check voter registration before Election Day
The National Voter Registration Act requires states to complete certain voter-roll maintenance activities 90 days before an election. After that point, registered voters generally cannot be removed from the list of active voters based on those specific purging procedures.
With Election Day approaching, voters should take a moment to verify their registration status. Checking now and keeping documentation, such as a screenshot or confirmation, that you are listed as an active, registered voter can help prevent problems on Election Day. You can check your voter status and obtain additional voter information at MyVote Wisconsin, https://myvote.wi.gov/en-us/My-Voter-Info. The website is brought to you by the Wisconsin Elections Commission.
If any issues arise at the polls, having proof that you were an active, registered voter past the 90-day cutoff may be critical to protecting your right to vote.

Letters to the editor are published in the order in which they are received and letter-writers are limited to having one letter published per month.
