Lotto 47 ticket worth $6.79 million sold in Michigan

LANSING – Someone won the $6.79 million jackpot for the Lotto 47 Michigan Lottery game on Saturday, Aug. 15.

The winning numbers were 4, 16, 28, 30, 36 and 37, and one ticket won the jackpot. Lottery officials have not yet announced where the ticket was purchased. Double play numbers were 3, 13, 17, 32, 36 and 44, although no one won the $1.5 million prize.

Another 18 people won $2,500 for matching five of the six numbers drawn.

Lotto 47 is a Michigan-only game that allows players to select six numbers from 1 to 47 for $1. Jackpots start at $1 million and grow until someone wins. For an additional $1 per play, Double Play may be added to a Lotto 47 ticket, giving players a second chance to win up to $1.5 million in the nightly Double Play drawing.

A 68-year-old Wayne County woman won the most recent Lotto 47 jackpot, choosing the correct numbers for a $1.67 million prize that she purchased in New Boston.

She chose to receive her winnings as a one-time lump sum payment of about $1.16 million rather than annuity payments for the full amount.

Lottery officials say the winner should contact the Lottery’s Player Relations division at 844-917-6325 to set up an appointment to claim the prize. Lotto 47 tickets are valid for one year from the date of the drawing.
