The Milwaukee County Sheriff’s Office is asking for the public’s help in identifying the man who died in an apparent drowning near Bay View Park Aug. 15.
Identification technologies, including fingerprint analysis, were unable to identify the man, according to the sheriff’s office. The sheriff’s office provided the following details:

Anyone with information that could help identify the man is asked to call (414) 278-4788.
According to the sheriff’s office, a witness called 911 at 9:42 a.m. after spotting the man in the water approximately 30 feet from the shore, between South Shore Park and Bay View Park.
The man was pulled from the water. Life-saving measures were not successful, and he was pronounced dead at 10:15 a.m.
In addition to the sheriff’s office and Milwaukee Fire Department, the St. Francis Fire Department and U.S. Coast Guard responded to the emergency call.
The sheriff’s office, in an updated news release, did not confirm if the man had drowned. As of the morning of Aug. 15, the incident remained under investigation.
