When Brandon Cisse was selected by the Green Bay Packers in the second round of the 2026 NFL Draft, he didn’t have to go far to find some green and gold apparel or merch.
After all, he had a close connection before he received that call from the Packers.
“My girlfriend’s family, huge Packers fans,” Cisse said in a conference call with Packers reporters on Friday, April 24 from his home in South Carolina.
And they’re not just Packers fans from out of state, they’re from Wisconsin, Cisse said.
“So yeah that’s kind of like the storyline there,” the 20-year-old cornerback said. “Big Packers fans, so it’s special.”
His girlfriend, Trista Lindler, was sitting beside Cisse at his draft party, along with many of his friends and family.
Cisse’s tearful reaction when the announcement was made on TV quickly went viral and was one of the more heartwarming moments of the draft.
“Packers Got the Best,” Lindler wrote in an Instagram Story April 24.
Lindler and her family were sporting their Packers apparel for a road game late in the 2023 season. The Packers defeated the Carolina Panthers, 33-30, during their late-season run to the playoffs.
“Back to my roots,” she wrote in the caption, along with photos from Bank of America Stadium for the Week 16 game on Dec. 24, 2023.
