Best individual season by a Packers player at each position on offense over last 25 years

The Green Bay Packers have played 25 years of football between the turn of the century in 2000 and last season, 2024.

To help celebrate the last 25 years of Packers football, Packers Wire is going to run down the best individual seasons by a player at each position between the 2000 and 2024 seasons. The list will include some of the best seasons ever crafted by a player in the franchise’s long history.

Here are the picks, position by position on offense:

Quarterback: Aaron Rodgers, 2011

The most difficult pick on the list was between 2011 Rodgers and 2020 Rodgers — two of the greatest quarterbacking seasons of all time. While 2020 Rodgers was surgically efficient, 2011 Rodgers gets the nod here. Including the playoffs, Rodgers averaged 9.0 yards per attempt and threw 47 touchdown passes and only seven interceptions while adding 24 first downs and three touchdowns as a runner in 2011. His 122.5 passer rating in 2011 still stands as the NFL record. He set career highs for passing yards, yards per attempt, passer rating, QBR, Approximate Value and big-time throws in 2011.

Honorable mentions: Aaron Rodgers, 2020; Aaron Rodgers, 2014

Running back: Ahman Green, 2003

Green’s 2003 season remains criminally underrated. He rushed for 1,883 yards, scored 15 rushing touchdowns (including a 98-yarder), caught 50 passes and finished with 2,250 yards and 20 total touchdowns. Green averaged 5.3 yards per attempt and 117.7 rushing yards per game while handling 405 total touches. During the postseason in 2003, he added 222 rushing yards, 60 receiving yards and two more scores, bringing his full season totals to 2,105 rushing yards, 2,532 total yards and 22 total touchdowns. The 2,532 yards from scrimmage are the sixth-most in NFL history.

Honorable mention: Josh Jacobs, 2024; Ahman Green, 2001; Eddie Lacy, 2014; Aaron Jones, 2019

Wide receiver: Davante Adams, 2020

Adams caught 115 passes and led the NFL in touchdown receptions (18) and receiving yards per game (98.1) during the 2020 season. He caught a career-high 77.2 percent of targets and averaged 9.2 yards per target while averaging 2.75 yards per route run, all elite numbers at wide receiver. Adams caught two more scores during the postseason, giving him 20 on the season. He was similarly productive in 2021, and Nelson’s two best seasons were incredibly high scoring and efficient.

Honorable mentions: Davante Adams, 2021; Jordy Nelson, 2014; Jordy Nelson, 2011; Javon Walker, 2004; Greg Jennings, 2010; Randall Cobb, 2014

Tight end: Jermichael Finley, 2011

Finley was well on his way to the most productive season by a Packers tight end in franchise history when he suffered a season-ending knee injury in 2010. The next season, Finley caught 55 passes for 767 yards and eight touchdowns, all amongst the best by a Packers tight end over the last 25 years. He averaged 8.3 yards per target and set a career high for touchdowns.

Honorable mentions: Tucker Kraft, 2024; Jermichael Finley, 2009; Robert Tonyan, 2020

Left tackle: David Bakhtiari, 2020

The season ended tragically for Bakhtiari, and his season-ending knee injury in late December might have cost the Packers a Super Bowl appearance. He was dominant throughout 2020, allowing only one sack and nine total pressures while posting the highest run-blocking grade of his career at PFF. Bakhtiari was a master of his craft at the height of his powers.

Honorable mentions: David Bakhtiari, 2016; Chad Clifton, 2007; David Bakhtiari, 2017

Left guard: Josh Sitton, 2013

A bonkers stat: Sitton played 719 pass-blocking snaps during the 2013 season (including the playoffs) but allowed only one sack and nine total pressures. He was also a dominant run blocker. Sitton’s best career season in 2013 kicked off a truly dominant run of seasons for one of the more underrated NFL guards of the last two decades.

Honorable mentions: Josh Sitton, 2014; Darryn Colledge, 2009; Mike Wahle, 2003

Center: Corey Linsley, 2020

Linsley earned All-Pro honors after giving up only one sack and seven total pressures and earning his career-best run-blocking grade during the Packers’ dominant 2020 season. He was an All-Pro once again a year later after signing with the Chargers.

Honorable mentions: Scott Wells, 2011; Mike Flanagan, 2003; Corey Linsley, 2018

Right guard: Marco Rivera, 2003

The Packers’ dominant offensive line in 2003 had to be represented. Rivera was a 16-game starter, Pro Bowler and second-team All-Pro for the Packers at right guard. While Sitton and TJ Lang both had excellent runs at right guard, Rivera made three straight Pro Bowls at the position between 2002 and 2004.

Honorable mention: Josh Sitton, 2010; T.J. Lang, 2015

Right tackle: Bryan Bulaga, 2011

The Packers have enjoyed consistently solid play at right tackle, but truly elite seasons are lacking. Bulaga produced several solid seasons, including 2011 and 2016. In 2011, Bulaga allowed just one sack. His highest-graded pass-blocking season came in 2016. Zach Tom’s 2024 season doesn’t rank far behind Bulaga’s best seasons.

Honorable mentions: Mark Tauscher, 2007; Zach Tom, 2024; Bryan Bulaga, 2016
