Appleton dog groomer convicted of possessing child pornography charged with bestiality

An Appleton man previously convicted of possessing child pornography in what prosecutors called a “child pornography ring that operated within our own community” was charged Sept. 5 with four felonies related to bestiality.

Who is charged?

Jacob Boudreau, 31, of Appleton. Boudreau previously owned Show Worthy Pet Salon & Boutique in Menasha.

On Oct. 2, 2024, Boudreau pleaded no contest to two counts of possessing child pornography and was sentenced Jan. 23 to 15 years in prison. Boudreau was charged alongside 22-year-old Noah Thiel after an investigation into former Outagamie County Human Resources Director Adam Westbrook.

Westbrook, 36, was convicted in federal court of distributing child pornography. He is scheduled to be sentenced Dec. 3.

Thiel was sentenced Jan. 29 to one year in jail and three years on probation for bestiality-related charges.

At the time of Boudreau’s sentencing for the child pornography charges in January, Winnebago County Assistant District Attorney Amanda Nash said that while Boudreau wasn’t facing bestiality charges in Winnebago County, there was evidence to suggest Boudreau was involved in sexually abusing his dog, and charges were referred to Outagamie County.

Boudreau is serving a 15-year prison sentence for his previous child pornography conviction. According to online records, he is currently in custody at the Vilas County Jail.

Boudreau is scheduled to make his initial appearance in court for the bestiality case Oct. 2.
