The No. 9-seeded Florida State Seminoles will play the Jacksonville State Gamecocks in an elimination game on Saturday in the Tallahassee Regional JoAnne Graf Field in Tallahassee, Florida.
FSU (49-9) lost to the Stetson Hatters 8-3 on Friday in the first game of the regional. The Seminoles finished the game with seven hits and three walks, going 1-12 with runners on and 0-6 with runners in scoring position. They never led as Stetson took a 2-0 lead in the second inning.
The Seminoles used their three top pitchers, with Jazzy Francik pitching the first 2.2 innings and allowing five earned runs. Ashtyn Danley allowed three runs in 2.1 innings before Bella Dimitrijevic did not allow a run over the final two innings. The Hatters racked up 12 hits with two home runs nd one walk, striking out nine times.

The Seminoles are scoring 7.3 runs per game and hitting .350 as a team with a 10.19 OPS. The pitching staff has a 2.87 ERA on 305 hits and 159 walks in 368.1 innings with 314 strikeouts.
Jacksonville State (45-15) lost to the UCF Knights 2-1 on Friday after leading 1-0 entering the bottom of the seventh inning. They went 1-15 with runners on and 0-8 with runners in scoring position as they failed to add any insurance runs after taking an early lead.

The Seminoles are crushing the ball and are now up 3-0 at the top of the second after Isa Torres tripled off the wall, driving in two runs and forcing a pitching change. FSU has hit into five outs, four of which were well struck, with two barely staying inside the park.

Kennedy Harp gave FSU its first lead of the NCAA Tournament with a solo home run in the top of the second to go up 1-0. FSU has hit the ball well, even if they have just one hit so far against Jacksonville State.

Jacksonville State put two runners on with one out in the bottom of the first, but Isa Torres made a good play on a grounder that Jazzy Francik deflected for a big out before Francik ended the inning with a strikeout. She allowed one hit and walked one batter in the inning, throwing 17 pitches.

FSU’s struggles with runners on continued in the first inning, with Isa Torres getting stranded at second after working a leadoff walk. Jaysoni Beachum and Ashtyn Danley both hit the ball hard, but Jacksonville State’s outfielders were able to catch both line drives.

Despite FSU playing at home and being the No. 1 seed in the Tallahassee Regional, the Seminoles are the designated road team in Saturday’s game against Jacksonville State. Since FSU was the home team vs. Stetson and Jacksonville State was the road team vs UCF, the Gamecocks get to be the home team.

UCF crushed Stetson 10-1 in the first game on Saturday, sending the Hatters to the losers’ bracket, where they will play the winner of FSU and Jacksonville State after that game concludes. UCF is one win away from advancing to the Super Regional round.
