It’s the season for corsages, gathering with friends and putting on your dancing shoes. As the school year winds down, high schools around the Fox Valley are having prom either April 18 or 25.
While students are deciding what to wear and who to go with, some parents have been getting ready for prom night for almost the entire school year, according to Appleton East parent and prom organizer Tina Muntner. They’re planning to immerse the venue, the Hilton Paper Valley Hotel in Appleton, in a roaring twenties “Great Gatsby” theme.

Last year, Appleton’s prom, which includes all public and charter high schools, had 936 students attend; this year, Muntner hopes to see even more. And, of course, to “put on the best event we can for the kids.”
Here’s what to know about where and when area proms are happening.
