Actor Jeremy Renner to be the guest of honor at 40th U.S. Venture Open

An Academy Award-nominated actor will be the guest of honor for the 40th U.S. Venture Open.

Jeremey Renner will be at the charity event Aug. 13, which brings golfers from all around to help combat poverty in northeastern Wisconsin. The U.S. Venture Open has raised $70 million and granted $60 million to nonprofits since its inception in 1986.

Renner will be at the U.S. Venture Open and then participate in an evening event at Van Abel’s of Hollandtown, 8108 Brown County D in Holland, where he will be interviewed while guests watch.

In a press release, Renner said that the U.S. Venture Open’s mission is similar to that of his nonprofit foundation, RennerVation Foundation, which works to empower at-risk youth and children in foster care.

“It’s an honor to be part of an event that’s all about lifting people up and creating lasting impact,” Renner said in the release. “The work being done in Northeast Wisconsin through the U.S. Venture Open is exactly the kind of impact we strive for at the RennerVation Foundation — empowering lives, building futures, and creating real change.”

Renner is well known for his portrayal of the superhero Hawkeye, appearing in various Marvel movies, including “The Avengers,” as well as the character’s Disney Plus television series, “Hawkeye.” He also starred in “The Hurt Locker,” which won six Academy Awards in 2010.

Registration for the event is available at usventureopen.com.
