Scott, the woman who started the brand, launched her jewelry line in 2002 with just $500. These days, the Austin-based company, still run by Scott, is known for a range of pieces from affordable to fine jewelry.

She’s had collaborations with major brands and celebrities including Disney and Dolly Patron. Scott also has appeared on two season of the ABC show Shark Tank where successful businessmen and women invest in start-up companies.

Celebrations planned for official Kendra Scott grand opening at The Avenue Viera

The official grand opening begins July 11 at 10 a.m. and runs through July 13.

Shoppers spending at least $100 will receive a free pair of earrings while supplies last. Throughout the weekend, 20% of sales during certain hours will benefit different local charities. They include Space Coast Health Foundation, Women’s Center of Brevard County and the Parker Foundation for Autism.

Complimentary beverages and snacks also will be available.

New stores opening at The Avenue Viera

Kendra Scott is the latest in a slew of new stores opening at The Avenue Viera.

Clothing stores American Eagle Outfitters,  Aerie and Southern Tide recently opened at the outdoor shopping, dining and entertainment venue.

Nordstrom Rack, an on-trend apparel, accessories, beauty products, home décor and more at up to 70 percent off, is scheduled to open mid-October.

Tommy Bahama, an upscale clothing store that has a coastal vibe, and Let’s Plant it, which offers customizable plant services and a diverse offering of plants should open before the end of the year.

Michael’s is closing, but officials have not announced what is going into that spot. A building permit has been filed for Trader Joe’s at that location, although there has been no official confirmation the grocery would be opening its first Brevard location.
