This time, Louisville’s Jake Morris passed the ball back from the left, where second-half sub Wilson took one touch around Jacksonville defender Wahab Ackwei and finished off the winner.
Sporting sputters in attack: Louisville (5-1-1) controlled 65 percent of the possession and managed 23 shots to Sporting Jax’s two.
Quick free kicks: Neither Sporting Jax shot hit the target, the second consecutive week in which the club failed to test the opposing goalkeeper. … Goalkeeper Christian Olivares kept Jacksonville in the game through stoppage time with a series of saves. … The scoreless drought is now 297 minutes for Sporting Jax. … Sporting Jax finished with four yellow cards for Ryan Edwards, Antonio Gomez, Ackwei and Dida Armstrong, while Louisville had none.
