An 84-year-old bicyclist died Sunday night after being struck by a bus near Cathedral Square Park.
Milwaukee police said the crash happened around 8:35 p.m. on the 500 block of East Kilbourn Avenue. The bicyclist was traveling eastbound and collided with a GO Riteway bus that was turning right onto North Jackson Street.
The bicyclist, who has not yet been identified, suffered life-threatening injuries in the crash and died on scene.
The driver of the bus remained on scene and is cooperating with the investigation, police said. No additional information was immediately available.
The July 19 crash is at least the fifth fatal traffic crash to occur in the city since July 7.
At least 22 people have died in traffic crashes so far this year, according to the most recent Milwaukee police data available. That figure does not include the 84-year-old victim.
Sixty-two people died in traffic crashes in Milwaukee in 2025, police data shows.
