Portage County Safety Fair
Mark Toyota of Plover will host the 2026 Portage County Safety Fair from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. May 16 at 1765 Park Ave. in Plover. The free event will feature child safety activities, a motorcycle safety simulator, photo ID and fingerprinting for children, a Wood County safety trailer, K9 unit demonstrations, free car seat checks, hands-only CPR, free blood pressure and diabetes testing, emergency vehicle displays, fire demonstrations, raffle prizes, food for purchase and more. Guardian Run/Walk
O’so Brewing Co. & Pizzeria will host The Guardian Run/Walk, a 5K run and walk to support Wisconsin veterans and Patriot K9s of Wisconsin, from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. May 16 at Lake Pacawa Park, 1831 Maple Drive in Plover. Guests can run or walk on the paved trail or attend the event that will also feature live music, O’so beer and O’so Amore pizza. Spring Soiree
CREATE Portage County will host a Spring Soiree starting at 6 p.m. May 16 at 1300 Maria Drive in Stevens Point. The event will be a Bridgerton-style party to “kick off the social season,” according to the Facebook event page. The Soiree will start outside with croquet and other outdoor fun, then the party will move indoors and will feature a cash bar with various refreshments. A dance will follow, including dance lessons for those looking for more direction. Guests are asked to wear their finest attire to the event.
