1 person dead after a motorcycle crash in Shawano County

One person is dead following a collision between a motorcycle and a FedEx delivery truck in Shawano County, according to a news release from the Shawano County Sheriff’s Office.

Deputies were notified of the collision at 9:22 a.m. on July 22 on Hillcrest Lane in Wescott. Several officers reported to the scene after initial reports indicated that the motorcycle driver, a 39-year-old man from the Shawano area, wasn’t wearing a helmet and possibly had sustained head injuries , according to the news release. The driver of the motorcycle was pronounced dead at the scene.

According to the release, the driver of the FedEx truck, a 25-year-old man from the Green Bay area, was driving northbound on Hillcrest Lane when the motorcycle driver, who was driving southbound, crossed into the northbound lane and struck the FedEx truck in a head-on collision.

No further detail will be released by the Shawano County Sheriff’s Office at this time, as the crash remains under investigation.
