A Burkburnett woman was killed in a wreck in Clay County Monday afternoon, the Texas Department of Public Safety said in a media release.
The DPS said the wreck happened at 3:36 p.m. about 4 miles northwest of Bellevue on U.S. Highway 287.
The DPS said the accident happened when the driver of a 2005 Hyundai G350L was traveling south, swerved out of the lane, then overcorrected and ran through a ditch and a barbed wire fence before rolling.
Carol Jean Smith, 59, was ejected from her vehicle and pronounced dead at the scene from injuries.
The DPS said she was not wearing a seatbelt.
