Wichita County judge hopeful Rick Hatcher is leading in campaign spending with just days to go before the Republican Primary runoff election on May 26.
Early voting for the primary runoff election began Monday and continues through Friday.
A campaign finance report filed with the Wichita County Elections Office on Monday showed Hatcher had total political expenditures of about $49,258 and had $58,500 in outstanding loans.
The report showed Hatcher had taken in $2,050 in total political contributions, all from small individual donors.
His campaign had $13,262 in the bank.
Hatcher’s largest campaign expenditure was about $10,966 to Hoegger Communications.
His opponent, Mark Dora, had spent around $22,056 on his campaign and had $66,500 in outstanding loans.
The report showed Dora had taken in $7,410 in total political contributions, and the Texas Association of Realtors Political Action Committee was his biggest supporter with a $2,000 contribution.
He had almost $300 in the bank.
Dora’s largest campaign expenditure was about $20,536 to Crane West advertising agency.
The candidates were required to file their campaign expense reports eight days before Election Day.
Hatcher is a former Wichita Falls city councilor while Dora is a political newcomer.
Because no Democrat is vying for the top administrative post in Wichita County government, the winner of the runoff is expected to take office on Jan. 1 to replace outgoing county Judge Jim Johnson.
