Where is Texas Tech in latest March Madness bracketology after Iowa State win?

There are just a few short weeks between now and the start of March Madness, and the Texas Tech basketball team is sitting pretty for a solid seed in the 2026 NCAA Tournament.

The Red Raiders enter the final week of the regular season ranked 10th in the country and fresh off a win over Iowa State in Ames. Texas Tech closes things out this week by hosting TCU and visiting BYU before next week’s Big 12 Conference tournament.

Where does Texas Tech’s 22-7 overall record put the Red Raiders in the latest bracketology projections?

ESPN: 4-seed (South Region)

ESPN’s Joe Lunardi basically refuses to budge, once again putting Texas Tech as a 4-seed in the South Region taking on Stephen F. Austin, who is now coached by former Red Raider assistant Matt Brauer.

CBS Sports: 4-seed (South Region)

It’s a carbon copy of Lunardi’s projection at CBS Sports, which also has Texas Tech as a 4-seed taking on 13-seed Stephen F. Austin.

USA TODAY: 3-seed (East Region)

The USA TODAY trio of Erick Smith, Eddie Timanus and Paul Myerberg put Texas Tech as the No. 3 seed in the East Region, featuring overall No. 1 seed Duke. The Red Raiders would take on Hawaii in the first round and either 6-seed Wisconsin or 11-seed Texas A&M in the second round at San Diego. That would be intriguing if A&M were to upset Wisconsin, since the Aggies have bowed out of the contracted home-and-home series and also have former Red Raiders Pop Isaacs and Federiko Federiko on the team.

On3: 3-seed (West Region)

James Fletcher of On3 has Texas Tech as a 3-seed in the West Region heading to San Diego to take on 14-seed Hawaii. The winner would play one of North Carolina, Indiana, or Auburn in the second round.

Texas Tech basketball’s NCAA Tournament resume

Through games played on March 2, Texas Tech is 13th in the NCAA’s NET rankings with a 7-7 record in Quad 1 games and a 15-0 record in Quads 2, 3 and 4.

The Red Raiders are also 13th over at KenPom with the ninth-best adjusted offensive efficiency and the No. 28 adjusted defensive efficiency.
