The Amarillo Fire Department issued a statement Thursday, April 16 about one of its firefighters being arrested.
AFD said it “is aware of the recent arrest of one of our members, who has been placed on administrative leave. While we cannot comment on an active legal matter, we hold all personnel to a high standard of conduct both on and off duty.
“As a civil service department under Chapter 143 of the Texas Local Government Code, we are following all required procedures. We remain committed to maintaining public trust and the integrity of our department.”
