When does pumpkin spice start? Details on Dunkin', Starbucks, Dutch Bros

While the official start of fall is still a few weeks away, coffee chains across the country are releasing anticipated fall menus surrounding the season’s most iconic taste: pumpkin spice.

Both Dunkin’ and Starbucks are rolling out fall menus in August with the release of their own version of the Pumpkin Spice Latte, while Dutch Bros’ fall treats will be available on the first day of September, which include a “Sweater Weather Chai” and “Caramel Pumpkin Brûlée.”

Here’s what to know about the release of pumpkin spice at your favorite coffee shop.

Dunkin’ fall menu

Dunkin’ released its fall menu on Wednesday, Aug. 20, featuring its Pumpkin Spice Signature Latte, served hot or iced, made with flavors of sweet pumpkin, vanilla and warm fall spices, then finished with whipped cream, caramel drizzle and a dusting of cinnamon sugar.

You can also add pumpkin swirl to their favorite hot or iced coffee, Cold Brew or espresso drink.

The Iced Pumpkin Loaf is new on the menu this year — a rich pumpkin and vanilla flavored pound cake topped with cream cheese icing.

Other signature fall favorites are making a comeback, like the Pumpkin Cake Donut and Pumpkin Donut Hole Treats.

When does pumpkin spice come back to Starbucks?

The so-called PSL will be back on Tuesday, Aug. 26, along with the Pumpkin Cream Cold Brew, Iced Pumpkin Cream Chai, and Pecan Crunch Oatmilk Latte.

Along with its traditional fall lineup, the coffee chain is releasing a new drink and food menu item. Starbucks fans can try a new Pecan Oatmilk Cortado and new Italian Sausage Egg Bites.

Dutch Bros. announces fall drinks are back

Fall favorites will be back at Dutch Bros. starting Monday, Sept. 1, including the Caramel Pumpkin Brûlée, featuring pumpkin and salted caramel flavors, pumpkin drizzle and raw sugar sprinkles.

The Sweater Weather Chai is back — the drink includes a double shot of Dutch Bros white coffee, and white chocolate. The Pumpkin Pie Frost is also on the fall menu, which features pumpkin flavor in a frost (Dutch Bros’ version of a milkshake) and topped with whipped cream.
