Texas A&M freshman WR works out with first-round pick, KC Concepcion

Late last month, form Texas A&M star wide receiver KC Concepcion was selected 24th overall by the Cleveland Browns in the 2026 NFL Draft, becoming the first Aggie wideout to be picked that early since future Hall of Famer Mike Evans in 2014. Concepcion is set to take part in the Browns’ rookie minicamp this week, but he reportedly returned to College Station for a workout.

In a video posted by Texas A&M’s media team, Concepcion was seen working out with current freshman wide receiver Aaron Gregory, running pristine routes, while the former blue-chip prospect is showing why all of us in Aggie media raved about his play during the spring season. Set to make his debut this fall, Gregory is projected to serve as Alabama transfer Isaiah Horton’s primary backup at the X receiver spot.

While this is simply a projection, the loss of Concepcion won’t sting as much given Horton’s 6’4″ frame and experience after three seasons at Miami and his one season with the Crimson Tide, where he finished with 511 yards and eight touchdowns. Gregory isn’t the only freshman receiver who made noise this spring, as Madden Williams, Jayden Warren, and Mike Brown all looked the part as future impact players.

Still, Gregory’s size, smooth route-running, and soft hands could lead to seeing the field early in certain packages, as coach Mike Elko and his staff are known for heavily rotating at certain positions when depth is there. Isaiah Horton is expected to help take the offense to the next level, and Aaron Gregory could be a significant part of that equation.
