What the Tampa Bay Rays are getting in Texas Tech baseball pitcher Trendan Parish

Trendan Parish became the second Texas Tech baseball player taken in the 2025 MLB Draft.

The 6-foot right-handed pitcher was selected by the Tampa Bay Rays in the 10th round of Monday’s draft, taken with the 297th overall pick.

Parish spent all four collegiate years with the Red Raiders, totaling 65 appearances for 142 1/3 innings for his career. He topped out at 20 appearances as a freshman in 2022 and had 15 appearances in 2025.

His most productive season came as a starter during his sophomore season of 2023, starting nine games across his 16 appearances for 57 innings, totaling 50 strikeouts and posting a 6.00 ERA.

Parish was moved back into the bullpen as a junior and senior. His career-best ERA of 3.33 came in 2023 when he pitched 27 innings.

The slot value for Parish at 297th overall is $191,300. Parish has exhausted his collegiate eligibility.
