London boys soccer player Colton Wiseman has been named the Apple Dental Center Athlete of the Week after coming up big for the Pirates in the second half of last week’s state semifinal game.
Wiseman recorded a goal and an assist in the second half in the Pirates’ match against Brookshire Royal.
Wiseman received 11,227 votes, which was 59.49% of the votes cast. Robstown softball player Kayleigh Espinoza was second with 4,871 votes and Riviera softball player Angelica Ortega was third with 2,220 votes.
Students can only be named Athlete of the Week once per season, per sport, and athletes from one school cannot win more than three consecutive weeks.
Nominations are due by 5 p.m. Saturday and can be submitted by email at ctsports@caller.com or on X at @CallerSports. Please include statistics or honors for your athlete.
Voting runs through Thursday each week.
