Already minted Group D champions, the United States Men’s National Team looks to close out what has been a dominant run through the group stage in style when it takes on already-eliminated Turkiye at SoFi Stadium.
That could allow the US to play a second-choice lineup, give injured Christian Pulisic another week of rest and keep its players on a yellow card (Tyler Adams, Folarin Balogun, Chris Richards, and Antonee Robinson) out of harm’s way in a situation where another yellow card would keep them out of the round of 32. Manager Mauricio Pochettino has already indicated that those four players in yellow won’t play.
The USMNT’s most likely opponent in the round of 32 on July 1 is almost assured to be Bosnia and Herzegovina.
