Texas WR Emmett Mosley V looks to build on solid first year in Austin

After an offseason full of change, the Texas Longhorns are primed for a national title run when college football returns in a few months. While the offense is full of new faces, there are a few returning veterans, such as Emmett Mosley V. The Chicago native will look to build on a productive 2025 campaign in his second year in Austin.

Mosley joined Texas prior to the start of the 2025 campaign after transferring from Stanford. He made an immediate impact, hauling in 28 receptions for 408 yards. The talented wide receiver also found the end zone three times and averaged 14.6 yards per catch. While the Santa Margarita High alum was learning a new offense, he had flashes of brilliance for one of the top teams in the country.

Although Mosley was a welcome addition, he did struggle to stay on the field at times, only appearing in nine games. He dealt with an ankle injury that required offseason surgery. Now that Mosley is fully healthy, he should be a weapon in an offense seen as one of the best in the nation.

As Mosley looks to raise his stock before the NFL Draft, he will have to compete for targets. The Longhorns’ wide receiver room includes Ryan Wingo and Cam Coleman, who joined the Longhorns out of the transfer portal. Before committing to Texas, Coleman was one of the most highly regarded players on the market after recording career highs in receptions with 56 and receiving yards with 708 during the 2025 campaign.

With a lot of attention expected to be focused on Coleman, Mosley should get plenty of opportunities to make an impact. He also now has better chemistry with starting quarterback Arch Manning, which should be beneficial. If Mosley can make the most of his snaps, then the Longhorns offense will not be an ideal matchup.

In his first season on the Forty Acres, Mosley showed that he can be a reliable piece and came through in clutch moments. Now his focus will be on showing it was no fluke as he looks to make the most of his time on the Forty Acres.
