MIAMI GARDENS, Fla. — The Texas Tech football team’s usually potent offense was rendered useless in the first half of its College Football Playoff quarterfinal game against Oregon.
The fourth-seeded Red Raiders, who made their mark toying with opponents throughout much of the season, had their worst offensive showing in quite some time. Oregon won every statistical category except for rushing yards, holding a 198-88 edge in total yards, including a 203-37 advantage in passing yards.
The effort in the Orange Bowl marked the first time since Nov. 20, 2021, that the Red Raiders went scoreless in the first half. That 23-0 loss at 9th-ranked Oklahoma State was also the last time Texas Tech was shut out for an entire game.
Behren Morton was 6-of-12 for 37 yards and an interception. Cameron Dickey fumbled and Stone Harrington missed a 54-yard field goal attempt, contributing to Texas Tech’s woes.
