Texas A&M sophomore WR tabbed as a potential 'household name' in the making

Texas A&M’s 2025 wide receiver corps now features two of the top playmakers in the country, KC Concepcion and Mario Craver, who, during the Aggies’ season-opening win over UTSA, combined for 194 receiving yards and three touchdowns in the 42-24 victory, which also included Concepcion’s 80-yard punt return touchdown.

While the NC State transfer has been tabbed as the team’s new No. 1 wide receiver, Mario Craver, who, led the Aggies with eight receptions for 122 yards and two of starting quarterback Marcel Reed’s career high four touchdowns on the night, has been tabbed by one college football analyst as the next superstar receiver, and a “household name” in the sports as the 2025 season rolls on.

CBS Sports CFB analyst Cooper Petagna is very high on the Mississippi State transfer, who, after recording just 17 receptions for 368 yards and three touchdowns during his 2024 freshman season with the Bulldogs, is now on pace for a career year with the Maroon & White.

Craver’s elite performance against the Roadrunners earned him prolific Pro Football Focus scores on offense (90.8) and passing grade (89.4), as both his touchdown receptions came after the catch from 22 and 24 yards on quick sideline passes. Craver’s quickness and twitch make him the most dangerous weapon on the roster, especially in the run game, which gets established early.

Standing at 5’9″ and 165 pounds, Craver isn’t the biggest receiver, but that only makes him more fluid in his route running, and a perfect compliment to the rest of the wide receivers in the rotation.
