After finishing the regular season with a 36-17 (16-8 in SEC play) overall record, Texas A&M softball will be hosting the Bryan-College Station Regional for the 18th time in school history.
The Aggies earned the No. 15 national seed in this year’s field, coming off their first-ever No. 1 seed selection in 2025. UConn (31-26), McNeese (40-20) and Arizona State (41-16) will join Texas A&M at Davis Diamond this weekend for the regional. The Maroon and White will play the Huskies on Friday at 1 p.m. CT, while the Cowgirls and Sun Devils square off at 3:30 p.m. CT.
Texas A&M is matched up against the Austin Regional in the bracket, which could lead to a Lone Star Showdown super regional if the Aggies and Longhorns win their respective regionals.
Trisha Ford’s club had a quick exit in the SEC Tournament, losing 11-8 to a motivated Auburn team looking to earn a spot in a regional. Texas A&M boasts 11 ranked wins this season, which is due in large part to an electric lineup that ranks 19th in the country with a .340 team batting average entering the tournament.
Mya Perez has earned the title of one of the nation’s most-feared hitters, ranking second nationally and first in the SEC with a .614 on-base percentage. The junior’s success has resulted in many pitchers opting to intentionally walk Perez, instead of giving her an opportunity to cause damage with one of the best swings in college softball. Perez was also the only player to reach base in every contest this season.
Two Aggies, Perez and Kennedy Powell, finished the campaign ranked inside the top 10 in batting average in the SEC. Perez and Micaela Wark have combined for 37 home runs in 2026, which also puts the pair in elite company among the league’s best hitters. Wark is tied for third in the SEC with 68 total RBIs, as well.
The Aggies will aim to defend their 21-5 home record against the Huskies on Friday afternoon at Davis Diamond. First pitch is scheduled for 1 p.m. CT and it will be broadcast live on ESPN2.
