Texas A&M football stays hot with commitment from 2026 three-star offensive tackle

The commits just keep rolling in for the Texas A&M football program and head coach Mike Elko, as the Aggies land Fort Bend Ridge Point offensive tackle Avery Morcho.

Standing at 6-foot-6 and 275 pounds, the three-star prospect made it official on Wednesday afternoon by tying a Maroon and White bow on his recruiting process. Morcho’s announcement marks the 20th commit for Elko’s 2026 class, which currently ranks as the No. 2 class by 247 Sports Team Recruiting Rankings and On3 Sports Recruiting Rankings.

The highly-touted tackle ranks as the No. 59 prospect at the position nationally and the No. 109 player in the state of Texas, per 247 Sports Player Rankings. Morcho chose the Aggies over programs like Ole Miss, Florida State, Stanford and TCU.

His outstanding functionality and length are two of his best qualities, while also gaining tremendous strength over the last few months, according to a report from TexAgs. Morcho emerged on the recruiting scene as a sophomore, and since then, he has received 23 total offers.

For Elko and company, Morcho’s commitment is the first offensive tackle from the 2026 class and only the second offensive lineman. With time and experience, his ceiling is incredibly high at Texas A&M under offensive line coach Adam Cushing, who helped lead the Aggies to become one of the leading rushing teams in the country last season before injury struck the program. During Cushing’s time with Elko at Duke, his offensive line ranked as one of the best in the ACC, while leading in multiple offensive categories.

Now, Cushing has one of the top-rated linemen in the class headed to Aggieland in 2026. If the pieces continue to come together for Elko, the Texas A&M football program could finish with the No. 1 recruiting class in the country for the first time since 2022.
